Pope Francis declared 2025 as a Jubilee Year, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope." The Holy Father wishes the jubilee to be a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and the climate crisis. The pope proclaimed the jubilee year through the publication of the papal bull, Spes Non Confundit, which is translated as "Hope does not disappoint." The Jubilee Year 2025 marks the 2,025th anniversary of the Incarnation of our Lord.
The logo shows four stylized figures, representing all of humanity, coming from the four corners of the earth. They embrace each other to indicate the solidarity and fraternity that should unite all peoples. The figure at the front is holding onto the cross, a sign of not only faith but also of hope, which can never be abandoned, because we are always in need of hope, especially in our moments of greatest need.
A plenary indulgence is a grace granted by the Catholic Church through the merits of Jesus Christ, Mary and all the saints to remove the temporal punishment due to sin. It Is a powerful way to obtain remission of punishment for sins that were already forgiven. It means the full remission of the temporal punishment due to sacramentally forgiven sins. It cleanses the soul as if the person had just been baptized. It must always be accompanied by a full detachment from sin.
For pilgrims who cannot travel to Rome: Archbishop Thomas Wenski has designated the following special places of prayer for Jubilee Year pilgrims, offering opportunities for reconciliation, indulgences and other events intended to strengthen and revive faith. St. Mary’s Cathedral in Miami, The National Shrine of Our Lady of Charity in Miami, Our Lady of Schoenstatt Shrine in Homestead, St. Mary Star of the Sea Basilica in Key West, St. Clement’s Catholic Parish in Wilton Manors and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Paris, Doral.

The saints can serve as examples of holiness for Catholics. By looking to the lives of these holy individuals, we can gain inspiration and guidance on how to live our own lives in a more devout and faithful manner. I encourage you to read about the lives of the saints and strive to follow in their footsteps of holiness.

Our sharing in the Body and Blood of Christ has no other purpose than to transform us into that which we receive.
May we be agents of hope to unite, heal and transform our world by answering the call to support the ABCD, joyfully and generously, so that we, ourselves, can develop a deeper connection with our faith, anchored in hope and lived out in charity.
As we settle into Ordinary Time, before beginning the Lenten season, this month gives us a special opportunity to reflect on the ways that ordinary life can absolutely be extraordinary. February is dedicated to the Holy Family. This wonderful tradition began in the 17th century as a means to encourage families to look to the example of the Holy Family as a model in our everyday lives.
